A personalised wedding ceremony created with a celebrant
dedicated to making
that special day your true love story!
Together we will tailor-make your ceremony to reflect your personal beliefs , philosophies and your unique personalities. You can decide to hold the ceremony anywhere- outdoors, indoors, in a forest, your garden, beside a lake (as long as we receive permission if the land is privately owned, of course!) I would be over the moon to be chosen to be your celebrant for your special day. Single sex couples, heterosexual couples, no prejudice- I am your celebrant. We can add whatever extras and embellishments you require- song, music, love story, vow sharing, prayers, blessings, Unity candle lighting, certificate signing.
.. When we first meet, you can both fill me in on your hopes and dreams for the day and I can share with you some ideas of my own if you wish..
No rules- anything goes!
Remember, a celebrant cannot perform the legalities that a registrar needs to do. So, this will need to be either performed during the main ceremony or before the celebrant-led service.
Handfastings
“TIE THE KNOT AND BE BOUND TOGETHER AS ONE”
My speciality! Handfastings are Celtic in origin and symbolise the union of two people and mark the commitment to each other. Handfastings can be done in many ways, with varying degrees of spirituality. The handfasting can involve a simple binding of hands with handfasting cords while the couple say vows. The ceremony can be at sunrise or sunset in a garden or within a circle of stones, in a woodland or by a beach. Clothing may be a traditional white dress and a suit or wellies, celtic robes, cloaks and flower circlets! It can be as Celtic, Pagan, Medieval, as Viking as you desire- or not at all!
Thoughout the handfasting planning I can advise and guide. We can add a circle ritual with the four quarter blessings with the elements of water, fire, air and earth. We can add oath stone, sharing a drink from the Quaich cup, jumping the broom, lighting the Unity Candle, a cake and ale ceremony as embellishments. You can include song, drumming, music, percussion, spiritual blessings or none at all. The handfasting will only involve elements that the couple choose and which reflect their personalities. Vows and rings can be exchanged during the special ceremony, too.
The ceremony itself is not a legal one. Vows can be for a year and a day, a lifetime, or for all eternity.. or whatever you want to pledge.
